We are looking for a kind, patient, positive, energetic and very reliable person, to join our team at our family-run care home for elderly persons.
Most of our residents have a degree of dementia. So, we need someone who is inherently friendly and caring and has a genuine interest in improving our residents' lives.
You must have excellent communication and record keeping skills and be flexible and understanding of our residents' various needs. This is a lovely job for a 'people-person', who is looking for a rewarding role in a friendly, supportive environment.
The hours are:
* Every other Saturday 9-5pm, 1 hour lunch break
* Every Sunday 9-5pm, 1 hour lunch break
The basic duties are below:
* To work together with the weekday activities co-ordinator, providing holiday/sickness cover where possible.
* To receive a hand-over from care staff at the beginning of the shift.
* To talk with new residents and the manager to find out what activities they like/might like.
* To individually record each resident's participation in activities.
* To be creative and flexible.
* To inform the managers of the resources you will need to carry out your job role.
* To undertake activities outlined in the weekly activity planner.
* To contribute in devising the weekly activity planner.
* To review the activity planner with the weekday activities co-ordinator and make necessary changes when required.
* To carry out such duties which their training and experiences qualify them to perform
* To decorate the home for special events such as Christmas, Wimbledon, the World Cup, Valentine's Day, the Olympics etc.
* To undertake all training as required and follow our policies and procedures.
