An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team
* Possess strong financial understanding
* Be capable of problem solving
* Be confident in leading a team
* Be self-motivated and driven
* Have excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims, and assist in renewal negotiations
* Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management
* Provide management information to highlight bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively
* Handle all group credit applications and POD processing
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions
* Control credit limits and manage litigation or insolvency proceedings
* Set and manage credit policies and credit note processes
* Assess risks for existing accounts and new credit applicants
* Maintain strong relationships across departments and with senior management
* Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval
* Visit customers and company sites as needed
