An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, skilled and experienced Highways Operations Resource Officer to join the Highways Operations Team based at Tadman Street, Wakefield.

What I might be doing?
The postholder will be responsible for undertaking as part of a team, or as an individual, stores administration of materials, equipment and the hire of services for the area delivery of highway maintenance and construction of schemes in a coordinated, timely and efficient way, ensuring value for money and sustainability within Wakefield Metropolitan District Council highway network.
You will undertake as part of a team, or as an individual to ensure the effective/efficient operation of all depot based material stocks and equipment including ordering, receiving and issuing to operational staff to help achieve:-
1. Completion of all works within the required timescales
2. Works completed in an effective manner that minimises disruption to all road users within the District
3. Work is carried out safely.
4. Work is carried out to specification
Essential requirements:
5. City and Guilds - New Roads and Street Works Act – Operative accreditation (NRASWA) in relevant subject or considerable experience in Highway Maintenance and construction at an appropriate level
6. ECDL or equivalent in computer skills
7. Current driving licence class B/C1
8. Up to date COSHH, LOLER and PUWER training
9. Up to date Customer Care and Data Protection training
10. Up to date training in a broad range of plant and equipment
