Job Purpose
As the Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s global supply chain strategy to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness across all H&MV Engineering projects. You will lead a team of supply chain professionals, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials and services, and fostering strong relationships with key suppliers. You will work closely with the Group Procurement Director to ensure that the procurement and supply chain strategies for the business are always aligned. Developing our supply chain from a primarily European base, to a global footprint is critical to delivering a large pipeline of EPC projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Supply Chain Strategy Development: Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy that supports the company’s growth objectives and operational needs.
* Align the supply chain strategy with our procurement strategy.
* Develop a functional supply chain in line with project pipeline and forecasting.
* Align the supply chain strategy with H&MV’s sustainability goals.
* Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and resources needed to meet the demands of fast-paced, high-value EPC projects.
* Supplier Management: Implement robust supplier evaluation processes to ensure compliance with H&MV’s safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Operational Efficiency and Risk Management: Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Develop and maintain contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business development, project management, engineering and procurement teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with project schedules and requirements.
* Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting related to supply chain activities.
* Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Champion sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, driving the adoption of environmentally responsible practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is highly desirable.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the engineering, construction, or utilities sectors.
* Proven track record of success in delivery of EPC projects and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier evaluation.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
