Purpose Statement:
Join our dynamic UK Engineering team at Plexus in Kelso as a Calibration Engineer. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to impact our projects, advance your career, and contribute to the ongoing success of Plexus.
As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for technical direction, team coordination, and administration of calibration services for site test/measurement/inspection equipment. You will support the site engineering and quality teams and work with other Plexus sites/regions and external vendors to facilitate successful calibration outcomes at our site.
Key Job Accountabilities:
* Follow global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
* Support assessment of calibration requirements for new customer products.
* Lead calibration methodology, technology and quote requests.
* Lead scheduling of calibration activities.
* Coordinate external vendors and internal teams to align with production requirements.
* Lead compliance to calibration lab standards (ISO 17025).
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience in the calibration and support of electrical/mechanical test and measurement instruments and devices.
* Ability to interface directly with customers and vendors on technical matters related to test and measurement.
* Coordination of resources to support calibration and preventative maintenance processes.
* Experience with Calibration management software (Fluke, Q-Pulse,etc).
* Corrective action support.
* Using electronic test and measurement instruments such as DVMs, PSUs, AWG, counter/timers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and network analyzers.
* Experience of maintaining calibration controls to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
* Good understanding of measurement uncertainty and out of tolerance control processes.
* Previous experience or desire to lead a team.
* Degree or master's in electronics engineering or a related field preferred; HNC minimum with relevant experience.
* Self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
