Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Location: Alcester, B49
Job Type: Part-Time
Working Hours: 25 hours per week
Reports to: Payroll Manager

Job Purpose:
To ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, maintaining compliance with current legislation and internal policies. The Payroll Clerk will support the finance team with payroll-related queries, data entry, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner
* Maintain employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, benefits, tax codes, and statutory deductions
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
* Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and redundancy pay
* Manage pension contributions and liaise with pension providers
* Assist with year-end tasks such as P60s and P11Ds
* Reconcile payroll reports and assist with internal audits
* Handle employee queries relating to payslips, tax codes, and holiday pay
* Support HR and Finance with payroll-related reporting and data
* Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices

Requirements:
Essential:
* Previous experience in a payroll processing role
* Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements (PAYE, NI, RTI)
* Experience using payroll software
* Good Excel and data entry skills
* High attention to detail and confidentiality
* Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
* CIPP qualification or working towards it
* Experience with auto-enrolment pensions
* Knowledge of HR systems and integration with payroll
