Key Responsibilities
1. Manage relational databases, ensuring high performance and reliability.
2. Investigate and resolve database performance issues promptly, minimising downtime and disruptions.
3. Contribute to small-to-medium projects.
4. Implement CI/CD pipelines and build resources in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong focus on automation.
5. Mentor engineers within the squad, providing technical knowledge transfer sessions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Research and introduce new products and tools to enhance our data engineering capabilities.
7. Apply good engineering practices and maintain a continuous improvement mindset towards the products you manage.
8. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Operate within Agile methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with AWS.
2. Experience in managing relational databases.
3. Skilled in SQL.
4. Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
5. Experience with automation pipelines and testing tools.
6. Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash.
7. Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
8. AWS certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner are a plus.
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.

* AWS: RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, ECS, KMS, VPC, Security Groups, Subnet Groups, Route 53, IAM, Lambda, Quicksight, Amazon Q, and more
* Monitoring: Dynatrace, Amazon RDS Performance Insights, AWS CloudWatch
* Languages: Bash, Python, SQL, PSQL
Salary
