Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team in Birmingham. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, filter coffee, and speciality drinks
* Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment
* Create latte art and present beverages in an visually appealing manner
* Take customer orders and process payments accurately
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
* Educate customers about our coffee offerings, including bean origins and flavour profiles
* Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
* Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and support colleagues during peak hours
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Barista, preferably in a busy café or coffee shop
* Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines
* Strong latte art skills and attention to detail in beverage presentation
* Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems
* Food hygiene certificate (desirable)
* In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods
* Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts
