Location : Port Talbot (4 days site-based, 1 day remote)
Salary/Rate : £25.00 - £31.60 per hour Inside IR35 (Up to £60,000)
Duration : Fixed term until March 2028
Schedule : Mon-Fri, 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:45 Fri
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale construction and civil engineering works. Your day-to-day will involve:
Budgeting : Preparing and reporting on project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans
Contract Management : Negotiating variations and change orders under NEC and FIDIC frameworks
Procurement : Overseeing subcontracting from tender through to final accounts
Leadership : Mentoring junior staff and fostering a high-performing commercial culture
Collaboration : Liaising with engineers and planners to ensure total project alignment
The ideal candidate will demonstrate
A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and Chartered status (RICS/CIOB)
Substantial experience in heavy industry, power, or major civil engineering projects
Deep knowledge of NEC 3/4, FIDIC, and/or JCT contracts
A valid driving licence and your own vehicle
Strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage complex stakeholders
