Regulator – Regulation of the Building Control Profession, Newcastle upon Tyne
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has established the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) to oversee changes to the safety and performance of all buildings and to raise industry professional standards year on year.
BSR will serve as a lasting tribute to those who have lost their lives due to poor and substandard buildings, helping to ensure tragedies like Grenfell are consigned to the past. We are expanding our team and creating opportunities for both technical specialists and non-specialists.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Support investigations, enforcement actions, sanctions, and audits of the newly regulated building control profession, including Registered Building Inspectors, Local Authorities, and Private Sector Building Control functions.
2. Assist in the delivery of inspections and investigations to ensure competence within the assigned portfolio.
3. Monitor and manage the performance of current cases, escalating risks and issues to the Audit or Investigation Manager.
4. Assist in administering the sanctions process, including creating disciplinary orders and leading responses to enquiries and concerns.
5. Work effectively as part of the team to achieve regulatory objectives.
