Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available at Practice Plus Group Barlborough for a Sterile Services Manager to join us on a full‑time basis. Working a 37.5 hour week, you will supervise TSSU Technicians working within “Good Manufacturing Practice” guidelines in the production unit, ensuring all resources, especially staff, are effectively organized. You will also work with the Theatre Manager to achieve productivity and quality standards while conforming to departmental traceability guidelines to comply with the quality systems and other relevant guidelines.
Main Duties of the Job
* There is a robust Quality Management System that meets the Essential Quality requirements as detailed in CFPP 01-01.
* Work to approved standards laid down in CFPP 01-01 (superseding HTM 01-01, 2010, 2030 and 2031 and HBN 13).
* Ensure that reprocessing equipment is fit for purpose and appropriately maintained.
* Oversee cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packing, sealing, sterilising and traceability of instruments, equipment and soft packs for supply to theatre and ward.
* Participate in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including washing, disinfecting, assembling, sterilisation and tracking of theatre trays and single instrumentation.
* All trays produced must fit for use and follow department procedures.
* Periodic testing is completed on time and results are recorded and maintained to the statutory time scale.
* There is an appointed Authorising Engineer (Decontamination) AE(D) and regular communication with that appointee, including at least an annual independent audit undertaken.
* Identify surgical instruments that require repair and send them to the relevant company.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience working within Sterile Services is essential, with demonstrable leadership skills.
