As a Software Developer Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced developers, contributing to real web applications and gaining hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle - from planning and building to testing, deploying, and maintaining software. You'll learn secure coding, work with databases, and collaborate closely with the team to deliver high-quality solutions that make an impact. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. A Typical Day in the Job: Help with all parts of making software, including planning, design, building, testing, and maintaining web applications. Write clear and easy-to-understand code that works well, follows company standards, and gives users a good experience. Find and fix different types of software problems or errors during development. Take part in testing to make sure software works properly and meets project needs. Work with databases and other systems to connect data with the applications being built. Follow safe coding practices to help keep software secure from attacks or mistakes. Use tools like Git to share and manage code while working with the team. Communicate and work with team members through meetings, online chats, and calls, and help create simple technical documents and project notes. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 4 in GCSE English Some experience with coding, either from studies, personal projects, or previous work. An interest in web development and learning technologies like PHP and modern frameworks. Willingness to learn new skills, ask questions, and take feedback. Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Clear communication and teamwork skills. Enthusiasm for technology and developing quality software.
