Case Manager, Hearings & Outcomes Unit, Department of Professional Standards Vacancy Reference Number 21448 Number of Vacancies 4 (B) OCU Professional Standards Location Southwark Band Band K1 Part/Full Time Full Time Hours per Week 36 hours per week Type of Contract Permanent Job Advert Job Title: Case Manager, Hearings & Outcomes Unit, Department of Professional Standards Salary: The starting salary is £37,098, which includes allowances totalling £3,009. The salary is broken down as £34,089 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,762. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000. Location: Southwark Primary Responsibility The primary responsibility for this role is to arrange and facilitate Police staff misconduct/performance/vetting hearings, Police Officer stage 3 UPP Hearings and Police Officer Misconduct and Accelerated Hearings in line with relevant policy and regulations. Main Duties include: Reviewing new cases from other branches of the DPS and the IOPC Liaising with the investigating officer to ensure case files are completed to the requisite standard and that there is full compliance with disclosure Planning, organising and facilitating Hearings Creation of hearing bundles, arranging service of Regulatory Notices and appropriate disclosure to relevant parties Preparation of briefing notes for the Chief Officer Group (NPCC level) when required Working with the Press Bureau to prepare press lines Liaising with relevant parties including officers/staff, Federation Representatives, Legal Advisors and counsel around the facilitation and logistics of hearings Conducting regular reviews of your caseload and engaging with line managers regarding concerns around cases Liaising with internal and external stakeholders such as panel members, IOPC and MOPAC when necessary Attending hearings, representing the Appropriate Authority liaison with the participants to ensure hearing facilitation Completing all administrative responsibilities throughout each case including updating of MPS computer systems Desirable Criteria Good knowledge of BOX and SharePoint. Additional Details The successful candidate will be required to work primarily from Palestra House as well as visiting other venues at ESB and Sutton. There is a future proposed move to Kentish Town. The normal hours of duty will be weekday/office hours, although hours do vary according to exigencies of duty. This is a full-time vacancy however flexible working or part time working will be considered. However successful applicants will be required to attend all hearing dates within their caseload and therefore flexibility in working hours is paramount and any part time working application must meet the business needs.
