We have an opportunity for an experienced Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer based in our Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle upon Tyne, Sheffield, Edinburgh or Glasgow office to help support our rapidly expanding workload and portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects both in the UK and internationally.
We need to increase our team to meet the growing demands from our clients, especially in the infrastructure sector (rail, highways & water) and the energy sector, including carbon capture & storage, renewable energy (wind, hydropower), low carbon engineering, and nuclear power.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer with proven technical and project management experience. Mentoring junior staff and strong communication skills are essential.
The candidate should have a degree in civil engineering or geology, with a postgraduate qualification in geotechnics, and be post-chartered either as a geologist or civil engineer.
We seek individuals who can develop and expand our infrastructure geotechnics capability across sectors, building on our existing portfolio and team.
Candidates should have:
* Design experience in sectors such as highways, rail, or water geotechnics.
* A strong academic background with a relevant degree (preferably MSc or equivalent) and Chartered status.
* Experience in a senior role within a fast-paced engineering consultancy.
* Project management skills, including client relationships, work planning, and commercial awareness.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation contexts.
* Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills, with leadership qualities.
* Strong report writing skills with accuracy and self-review capabilities.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas, and hold a valid UK driving licence.
