Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in food and beverage operations. The Cafe Assistant will be responsible for supporting daily café operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers, and assisting with food and drink service.
Responsibilities
* Serve food and beverages to customers in a courteous and efficient manner
* Prepare and present food items, including light food preparation and presentation
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
* Handle cash register operations and process payments accurately
* Restock supplies and ensure the café is well-stocked throughout the shift
* Uphold food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
* Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer enquiries promptly and professionally
* Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the café
Qualifications
* Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
* Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
* Experience working as a barista or in a restaurant environment is a plus
* Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if necessary
* A positive attitude with a genuine interest in delivering excellent customer service
