Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual to join their medical department. The role involves working with elite female footballers in Tier 3 women's football, providing physiotherapy, sports therapy, or sports rehabilitation services.
The successful candidate will cover physiotherapy and rehabilitation for the first team and occasionally pathway players. The role requires flexibility to work various hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This is an excellent opportunity for proactive individuals passionate about football and professional development, with opportunities for internal CPD and staying current with industry literature.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Conduct clinical assessments of injured players
* Maintain detailed injury and treatment records
* Communicate regularly with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and players regarding injuries and availability
* Participate in internal CPD sessions
* Support the development of junior therapists within the women's pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies on health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications and Requirements:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFAif qualification (and commitment to annual reaccreditation)
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, including injury management and rehab planning
* Medical insurance suitable for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
* The ability to play or participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation (preferred)
