Responsibilities
* To undertake decontamination science duties in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient – to carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices and record all tasks in the tracking and tracing database.
* To ensure that all products manufactured in the Decontamination Services department within the Trust are fit for purpose and produced in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the Quality Manager System (QMS) relevant to the area and to work as part of a team and undertake duties as directed by the management team of the Trusts decontamination facilities.
* To reprocess reusable medical devices, disassemble, clean, disinfect, check, assemble, sterilise, dispatch and track in a controlled environment.
* To work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System.
* To contribute to ensuring that quality assurance and production controls systems are maintained in accordance with standard work instructions.
* To receive raw materials and distribute raw materials to the production area, ensuring that all materials have been booked out in accordance with the quality procedure.
* Under limited supervision, meet the demands of the Department’s workload whilst consistently achieving high quality standards which will be measured by in‑process checks and non‑conformance reports.
* Attend regular departmental team meetings.
* To undertake duties consistent with the responsibility of the grade and needs of the service.
* Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
