Senior Estimator Permanent Location: Work from home with occasional visit to Devon office Salary: Circa £80,000 Package Key Responsibilities * Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for marine infrastructure projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractors. * Analyse project plans, specifications, and risks to ensure accurate and competitive bids. * Collaborate with operations, engineering, and bid teams to align estimates with project feasibility and programmes. * Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, review quotations, and conduct site visits. * Support the Head of Estimating in mentoring the team and promoting cross-team collaboration. * Implement best practices and AI tools to improve estimating processes and efficiency. * Provide input on project feasibility, value engineering, and strategic pricing for senior leadership. Qualifications & Experience Required * Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar (preferred), or equivalent experience. * 5 years’ senior estimating experience within marine infrastructure or heavy civil projects. * Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and environmental factors. * Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents. * Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning software. * Excellent numerical, analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Desirable: * Experience in dredging, piling, breakwaters, or similar marine works. * Experience mentoring junior estimators. * Driving license, CSCS card, and knowledge of NEC contracts Other information: * Our client is open to speaking with candidates who are based anywhere in the UK. Successful candidates would be expected to attend their Devon office approximately once per month to maintain team contact and collaboration. * 40 hour working week * Salary circa £80,000, plus company car or car allowance, discretionary company bonus, and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. * It is essential that applicants have strong Marine Civils experience.
