As a Surveyor – Markets Estates with City Property Glasgow, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the Blochairn Market portfolio, home to Scotland’s largest wholesale fruit and fish markets.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Glasgow’s tradingmunity, ensuring the smooth operation and financial performance of a diverse estate. You’ll handleplex landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals, and new lettings, while driving initiatives to maximise ie and improve efficiency across wholesale and retail operations.
Your new role
As a Surveyor – Markets Estates, you will support the Markets Manager in the effective management and enhancement of a major market estate. You will ensure lease obligations are met, ie is maximised, and service charge budgets are effectively managed across both wholesale and retail operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managingplex landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews, lease renewals, arrears, and new lettings.
• Leading estates management initiatives and supporting asset management strategies.
• Preparing and monitoring service charge budgets and expenditure forecasts.
• Negotiating favourablemercial terms with agents and tenants.
• Producing accurate management andmittee reports with professional rmendations.
• Deputising for the Markets Manager and providing out-of-hours standby cover when required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS) and a relevant degree-level qualification.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Strong experience inmercial property management, lease negotiations, and service charge accounting.
• Excellentmunication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
