We are currently hiring a few Seasonal Sales Associates at The Spice & Tea Exchange in historic Downtown Portsmouth. We sell spices, herbs, teas, spice blends, rubs, and hot and cold tea-to-go. Our energetic team is committed to providing an AMAZING customer experience while creating and delivering high-quality products to tantalize taste buds.
Compensation ranges from $12-17 per hour, plus tips, with an additional $2 shift differential on qualifying shifts, which include:
* Friday: Employee ends work after 6 pm
* Saturday: All day
* Sunday: All day
Scheduling & Work Types
Shifts are typically 5-8.5 hours with a 20 or 30-minute break. We are looking for team members to work weekdays and weekends, with shifts between 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Available shifts in August include:
* Monday: 10 am or 12 pm - 6:30 pm
* Tuesday: 10 am - 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm
* Wednesday: 10 am - 6:30 pm
* Saturday and Sunday: 9 am - 4 pm, 11 am - 6 pm, 12 pm - 8 pm
We prefer new team members to start training in August or early September, with the ability to cover at least 2 shifts and work through early January. Opportunities for additional hours, promotion to shift lead, and year-round employment are also available.
Responsibilities
* Know The Spice & Tea Exchange brand: Learn our story, share with customers, and maintain current product knowledge through training and reading.
* Engage with guests: Welcome guests, provide store tours, answer questions, make suggestions, explain promotions, and operate the POS system efficiently.
* Maintain store appearance: Replenish shelves, follow food safety rules, package products, contribute to store cleanliness, and adhere to operating procedures.
