Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) will open its first GP WiC in June 2026. This WiC falls under the GP Out of Hours Service (OOH) and will complement local daytime General Practice and wider primary and community care services.
Duration, Location & Working Pattern
* Fixed term or secondment post for 12 months.
* Part‑time, 20 hours per week with a requirement to work 2 weekends in 4.
* Job share covering 7 days a week, hours varied between 11:30am and 8:30pm Monday to Sunday.
* Provides urgent clinical services Monday to Sunday and on public holidays 12–8pm.
* Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Receptionist/Clerical Officer in GP Out of Hours service – part of the admin support team delivering reception, clerical tasks at the WiC. Duties include reception activities, data input, record management and general typing.
Qualifications & Experience
* Secretarial qualification or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrable experience in an administrative/reception/front‑of‑house role.
* Working knowledge of patient flow, waiting‑room management and the role of administration in supporting clinical safety.
* Experience handling challenging or distressed patients, carers or service users calmly and professionally.
