The role offers a unique blend of the pace and variety of emergency care with the holistic, person-centred approach of general practice, supported by close collaboration with Emergency Medicine colleagues.
As a GP in the Urgent Care Centre, you will:
* Provide timely clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with urgent care presentations, utilising your Primary Care expertise to provide high quality decision making
* Work closely with the Emergency Medicine team and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care
* Contribute to safe streaming and effective patient flow supporting appropriate use of urgent and emergency services
* Have opportunities to participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development helping to continually improve patient care
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
