A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a buyer of goods and services to join our (Good Not For Resale) Procurement team at our Head Office in Newcastle upon Tyne.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

19. The base location for this role is Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8BU. Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area
What you'll do
As part of this role, you’ll be contributing to Greggs’ exciting plans for the future of IT and Marketing, you'll also;
20. Liaise with Internal stakeholders where appropriate to understand their requirements for purchases, such that they can be tendered if appropriate
21. Negotiate Commercial and Contractual terms with Suppliers
22. Support in the managing of, and resolving, day to day issues with suppliers in a timely and effective manner
23. Take ownership for, and driving, cost saving initiatives throughout the business in key areas of responsibility
24. Extract and analyse SAP data to identify opportunities to drive value or consolidate suppliers in their category
25. Liaise with the Senior Purchasing Team should these purchases be from suppliers that they deal with, as part of their Supplier Relationship management to agree the approach and activity
26. Identify and negotiate appropriate specifications and SLAs for goods and services supplied
27. Adhere, support and contribute to our Responsible Sourcing processes and goals
28. Review processes and standards to maintain customer focus and ensuring best practice is achieved
29. Maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers
30. Source the market either via existing supplier relationships, utilising market knowledge within the team or using sourcing tools (, Ariba)
31. Support the Purchasing Managers on larger projects as required
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
32. Have outstanding planning and organising skills
33. Are articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
34. Assertive with ability to manage internal and external contacts with diplomacy
35. Persuasive and able to communicate and influence at all levels
36. Strong interpersonal skills
37. Expert with Office 365 and competent with SAP reporting
38. Experience of either working with Suppliers and/or negotiating better pricing, tender processes or driving value from supplier interactions
39. Experience of dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously
40. Experience of reporting from SAP, running analysis using excel and driving insight from data
41. Ability to demonstrate a capability to liaise with Internal and External contacts and to effectively ensure Stakeholder engagement
42. Highly numerate and literate
43. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite and ideally SAP
44. A can-do attitude and flexibility to working hours is required
