Relationship Manager/Director – Hotel Finance


Location: London


An established international bank is seeking an experienced Relationship Manager/Director to join its growing Hotel Finance team in London.

This is a front-facing origination and portfolio management role, focused on developing and managing a portfolio of hotel clients across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for winning new business, structuring and executing transactions, and ensuring robust ongoing portfolio oversight.


The Role

You will:

* Originate and execute new hotel finance transactions.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as the primary point of contact across the full lending lifecycle.
* Structure, negotiate and execute facilities, including pricing, terms and conditions, and security packages.
* Prepare high-quality credit papers (new deals, amendments and extensions) for Credit Committee approval in a timely manner.
* Issue Heads of Terms and facility documentation and manage transactions through to completion.
* Conduct detailed credit and risk analysis, including financial modelling and covenant assessment.
* Monitor a portfolio of hotel lending exposures, including site visits, covenant compliance, risk monitoring and early identification of potential issues.
* Liaise with valuers, lawyers, monitoring surveyors and other external advisors throughout the deal and monitoring process.
* Ensure all lending and monitoring activity is conducted in line with internal credit policy, regulatory requirements and best practice.
* Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and contribute to internal portfolio review meetings.

Portfolio & Risk Management

* Proactively monitor financial and non-financial covenants, external ratings and watchlist accounts.
* Identify and escalate emerging risks in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
* Oversee interest and fee collection and manage any delinquent positions.
* Support internal audits and loan reviews, responding to queries and addressing any exceptions.
* Ensure AML, KYC and account monitoring processes are completed to the highest standard.

Team & Leadership

* Work closely with the Head of Hotel Finance and collaborate with Analysts and Assistant Relationship Managers to ensure best practice across the team.
* Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
* Contribute to the delivery of annual team targets and broader strategic objectives.

Candidate Profile

* Proven experience in real estate or hotel finance within a bank or specialist lender.
* Strong credit analysis and structuring capability, with experience preparing and presenting credit papers.
* Demonstrable track record in client relationship management and business development.
* Strong understanding of risk management, covenant monitoring and secured lending structures.
* Commercially minded, proactive and relationship-driven.
