Join us in shaping the future of waste and recycling in Boston! Boston Borough Council is launching its food waste collection service in 2026 and we’re building an engagement team to make it happen.
Responsibilities
* Promote the council food waste collection service and the wider waste service, including updating council web pages.
* Deliver presentations, workshops or public engagement sessions.
* Build understanding and encourage participation among residents in the new food waste collection service and existing refuse and recycling services.
* Represent the council as the face of this change, building positive relationships with the community.
Qualifications and Skills
* Confidence speaking with a wide range of people, both one‑to‑one and in group settings.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and engagingly.
* Comfortable delivering presentations, workshops or public engagement sessions.
* Adaptable to different situations and able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ready to take initiative and find solutions.
* A flexible approach to working hours (including occasional evenings and weekends).
* A full driving licence and the ability to travel across the borough.
Training
No waste experience? No problem! If you have transferable skills and a passion for making a difference, we’ll provide full training.
