Children Social worker
Support and protect team
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Social Worker to join our dynamic Support and Protect Team. This is a crucial role, offering the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. You will work as part of a highly skilled and supportive team, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Responsibilities:
* Undertake comprehensive assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of children and families, identifying needs and risks, and working to ensure children are safe and well cared for.
* Develop and implement care plans: Create and implement effective care plans tailored to the specific needs of each child and family, working collaboratively with other agencies and professionals.
* Direct work with children and families: Engage directly with children and families, providing support, guidance, and practical assistance to improve their well-being.
* Safeguarding: Play a vital role in safeguarding children, ensuring their protection from harm and abuse.
* Multi-Agency Working: Work effectively with a range of professionals, including police, health visitors, teachers, and other agencies, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to child protection.
* Case Management: Manage a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely and effective service delivery, meeting deadlines and targets.
* Court Work: Prepare and present cases in court, providing expert testimony and advocating for children's best interests.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contacts and interventions.
Essential Criteria:
* Qualifications: Social Work Degree and registration with Social Work England.
* Experience: Post-qualifying experience in children social work, ideally within a child protection setting. Experience of working directly with children and families is essential.
* Skills: Excellent assessment, planning, and intervention skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a challenging caseload; strong report writing skills.
* Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
