Dewey Group is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer / Contracts Engineer with a background in piling and ground engineering to support a major infrastructure development in Suffolk. This nationally significant project offers long-term opportunity, stability, and the chance to work at the forefront of the UK’s energy and civil engineering sectors.
As part of the site-based delivery team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of contracts associated with piling operations. You will contribute to technical delivery, contractual compliance, and commercial oversight, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
This role is open to both experienced Contracts Engineers and those ready to step into a Senior role.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate piling and ground engineering contracts, ensuring technical and commercial deliverables are met.
*
Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
*
Work closely with site and project management teams to plan, monitor, and control work progress and programme compliance.
*
Provide technical support and advice to the delivery teams, liaising with designers, clients, and subcontractors.
*
Support procurement activities, including materials, plant, and subcontract services.
*
Monitor and report on contract performance, supporting commercial teams with valuations, variations, and change control.
*
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
*
Act as the key point of contact for client representatives and stakeholders on contract matters.
Essential Requirements:
*
Proven experience in a Contracts Engineer role, ideally with exposure to large-scale or complex infrastructure projects.
*
Strong technical understanding of piling techniques (CFA, rotary bored, driven, etc.).
*
Knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms and associated contract management processes.
*
Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
*
High attention to detail with the ability to proactively manage technical and contractual risks.
*
Valid CSCS card and relevant safety qualifications (SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent).
*
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
*
Experience working in regulated environments such as nuclear, power, or energy.
*
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.
*
Familiarity with project planning and document control systems.
