Brand Manager/Strategist Job Description: JOB PURPOSE: Brand Managers champion the Sage brand by developing brand identity and architecture, providing guidance and resources to the organization and our partners, and governing the application and use of brand properties. The role is part of the Brand & Corporate Affairs organization, supporting the management of our brand identity and architecture across the world. This Brand Manager/Strategist role will focus on supporting the development, management, and governance of the brand architecture strategy, including the naming of software products, programs, capabilities, and more. Working with colleagues across different functions in the organization, the role will work through naming solutions that help achieve intended program objectives and advance the brand architecture strategy. The Brand Manager/Strategist will also support the development of other aspects of our brand identity, including brand tone of voice. In addition, this Brand Manager/Strategist role will also provide brand governance and brand creative consultation across branded communications and campaigns. Working with our internal colleagues and agency partners, the role will support managing the brand management frameworks, processes, and ways of working to ensure consistency across all our touch points and best-in-class execution. ABOUT THE TEAM: This role is for a Brand Manager/Strategist as part of the Global Brand Management team at Sage. Brand Management champions the Sage brand, with a mission to help our organization, partners, and suppliers understand, believe in, and deliver on our Sage brand promise. Our team enables and inspires, by providing the means to elevate creative and experiences from our brand to higher standards. Our team guides and governs to make it easier for colleagues to do the right thing and harder to do the wrong thing. We do this through developing the brand identity and architecture; managing brand resources; building the brand asset library; conducting brand training, brand reviews, and governance; and shaping brand creative across major initiatives. REQUIREMENTS: - 8 years experience at a brand or creative agency and/or in-house brand department; experience with major brands preferred - Background in brand strategy or brand management preferred - B2B or SaaS technology experience a plus - Strategic skillset with strong ability to problem solve and assess issues through multiple angles - Ability to absorb and recall brand strategy details and understand when and how rules should apply - Ability to educate on brand best practices related to brand architecture strategy and brand identity - Excellent communication skills with ability to educate and train others - Skilled in project management, with ability to prioritize and navigate changes and roadblocks - Strong writing ability a plus - Passionate about branding, including the finer details that build brand consistency - Experience with Adobe Photoshop or other Creative Cloud applications, preferable - Flexible on working hours to meet virtually with colleagues and agencies across North America, Europe, and Africa FLEXIBLE WORK PATTERNS FOR THIS ROLE: - Work in office 3 or more days a week (WFH up to 2 days a week) - Working flexible hours - flexing the times you work in the day - Work Away opportunities Key Responsibilities: Summary of Role As a Brand Manager at Sage, you'll champion our global brand by developing and managing brand identity and architecture, providing clear guidance to colleagues and partners, and governing how our brand is applied across everything we do. You'll join the Brand & Corporate Affairs team, working with people around the world to maintain and grow a brand that colleagues, customers, and partners believe in. If you're passionate about branding, strategy, and the creative and technical aspects of managing a global brand, we want to hear from you. What I Will Be Doing You'll focus on developing and managing our brand architecture strategy, including naming software products, programs, and capabilities to ensure they align with our brand objectives. You'll work closely with colleagues across functions to create naming solutions that achieve business goals while strengthening our brand. In this role, you'll also help shape other aspects of our brand identity, like tone of voice, and provide governance and creative consultation across branded communications and campaigns. You'll manage naming requests from discovery through to legal clearance, create guidance documents, liaise with Legal on trademarks, and ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints. You'll also contribute to brand governance processes, frameworks, and best practices, supporting our mission to inspire and guide colleagues to deliver outstanding brand experiences. What We Are Looking For We're looking for someone with at least 8 years' experience in brand strategy or brand management, ideally within a major brand, creative agency, or in-house brand team. Experience in B2B or SaaS technology is a plus. You should be strategic, organised, and an excellent problem solver, with strong communication skills to educate, train, and influence others on brand best practices. You'll need to understand brand architecture strategy in detail, have a keen eye for brand consistency, and bring strong writing skills. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferable. You should be flexible in your working hours to connect with global colleagues and comfortable working from the office at least three days a week.
