Senior Stores Person
Connexus UK are delighted to be supporting a leading UK manufacturer in their search for a Senior Stores Person. This newly created position has been introduced to support continued business growth and a busy production operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full stores and logistics function, managing goods-in, stock control, and materials flow across multiple sites. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to lead a small team effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all daily stores and logistics operations, including goods receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch.
* Supervise and mentor a small team of stores personnel, ensuring targets and standards are met.
* Manage stock allocation, kitting, and delivery of components to production lines in line with manufacturing schedules.
* Work closely with procurement and production teams to track deliveries, manage shortages, and resolve material flow issues.
* Maintain ERP system data for goods in/out, stock adjustments, and audit trails.
* Ensure all received components meet quality, compliance, and documentation standards.
* Drive efficiency through continuous improvement and process optimisation.
* Promote a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in line with company health and safety policies.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
What You Will Need
Required:
* Proven experience in a stores, logistics, or materials management position within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
* Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
* Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. MS Navision, NetSuite, or similar).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable:
* Background in engineering or the HGV/automotive manufacturing sector.
* Forklift truck licence (training provided if required).
* Experience managing stock and logistics across multiple production sites.
* Knowledge of supply chain and production planning principles.
