Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established architectural and planning practice in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Tunbridge Wells. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a design-led consultancy, working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams on a variety of residential and mixed-use developments. The successful Town Planner will play a key role in shaping planning strategies and supporting projects from concept through to approval. THE ROLE As a Town Planner, you will be involved in managing planning applications, providing strategic advice, and working collaboratively with internal design teams. You will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and have the opportunity to further develop your career as a Town Planner within a supportive and creative environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals • Producing high-quality planning reports, statements, and supporting documents • Providing planning advice to clients and internal teams • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders • Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations • Supporting project delivery from early-stage design through to determination • Assisting with project coordination and programme management • Contributing to business development and networking activities WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline • MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership • Experience within a planning consultancy, architectural practice, or similar environment • Strong understanding of the UK planning system • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines • A proactive and collaborative approach WHAT’S ON OFFER • Competitive salary and benefits package • Opportunity to work within a design-led, multidisciplinary team • Exposure to a wide range of projects • Support towards Chartership and continued professional development • Clear career progression opportunities Interested?
