Planning Manager | Nuclear, Energy & Infrastructure Projects

A major opportunity has arisen for a Planning Manager to lead the planning and scheduling of a critical mechanical works scope within one of Europe’s largest and most technically demanding energy infrastructure projects. The role carries full responsibility for setting the planning strategy, ensuring consistency across all scheduling disciplines, and maintaining control of programme performance on a live, high-profile site.
The Planning Manager will own the planning framework driving integration between mechanical, civil, and electrical interfaces, ensuring progress visibility, and providing senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights on schedule performance, risks, and recovery actions.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead all planning and scheduling activities for site-based mechanical and multi-discipline construction works.
* Establish, maintain, and enforce planning governance, reporting structures, and performance metrics.
* Direct a small team of planners, ensuring consistent methodology and data integrity across workstreams.
* Manage full project lifecycle scheduling from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate schedule integration and progress tracking using Primavera P6 and associated project systems.
* Conduct critical path analysis, risk evaluation, and change control to support proactive decision-making.
* Interface with construction, engineering, and project management to drive programme certainty.
* Present schedule performance and recovery strategies to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Lead Planner on major EPC or infrastructure projects.
* Strong background in mechanical, civil, or electrical construction planning.
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and related project control systems.
* Skilled in developing and managing large, complex project schedules within live site environments.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
* Experience within nuclear, energy, or heavy industry environments preferred.
* Current SC clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
