Reporting to the Country Manager, we are seeking an exceptionally driven, performance focused, innovative and experienced Business Operations Manager to join our organization. Position Overview: The Business Operations Manager will work alongside the Country Manager, overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the logistics operations across all UK sites. The Business Operations Manager will ensure the company’s goals and objectives are achieved, whilst identifying opportunities to create operational efficiencies, implement new strategies, and ensure seamless, operational alignment between core operations and customer operations, to achieve service delivery excellence, operational efficiency, and a consistent customer experience. Role and responsibilities Develop and execute operational strategies to align with the company’s overall objectives. Provide direction and guidance to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery. Continuously assess and improve operational workflows, operational processes to maximize efficiency. Identify areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and enhanced productivity within the operation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics, inventory management, and transportation. Lead and mentor a team of operational staff. Review, revise and train out process updates ensuring all departments and depots are aligned. Foster a culture of collaboration, performance excellence, and accountability. Ensure the development of talent through training programs and local development initiatives. Oversee the preparation and management of the operations budget. Monitor costs and ensure operations are conducted within budgetary expectations. Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining and improving service levels. Ensure logistics services are delivered in line with customer SLA’s and contractual obligations. Address customer issues or service failures and work with relevant teams to identify and implement corrective solutions. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations are understood and cascaded through the operational teams. Analyze performance and identify trends in operational efficiency, inventory management, transportation, and service quality. Provide regular reports to the senior leadership team regarding operational performance, challenges, and progress toward goals. Work closely with HSEQ manager to ensure all activity is compliance and quality focused. Continually review and evaluate system solutions to help improve operational performance, including warehouse management systems, transportation management systems and reporting tools. Maintain excellent understanding of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive operational success, including competitor analysis. Ensure operations always comply with regulations, including safety standards, environmental requirements. Address staff performance issues decisively and in line with company policies. Manage risk by ensuring proper handling of goods and logistics, reducing delays and operational disruptions. Ensure all site facilities matters are managed quickly and efficiently Occasional travel to Milton Keynes and Manchester sites. Occasional travel to client sites. What You Bring: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (desirable). Full UK driving license Essential Skills and Experience 10 years of experience in business operations, with a significant portion of that in an operational management role in the logistics or supply chain industry. Proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations and delivering positive results. Experience of managing multiple cross functional teams and a proven record of performance management, coaching and leadership. Strong leadership, people management, communication, and team-building skills. Ability to manage budgets and drive cost efficiencies. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical skills, trend analysis and strategic thinking abilities. Experience with logistics and supply chain management software and technologies. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in logistics and transportation. Strong understanding of data analytics and KPIs in an operational setting. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with experience of leveraging these for reporting, analysis, and effective communication across teams. Strong negotiation and influencing skills The ability to identify inefficiencies and initiate change Self-awareness and strong interpersonal skills.
