We are seeking a Treasurer, particularly encouraging applicants from Black & Asian communities, those with lived experience of homelessness & mental health issues, and from other minoritised communities.
What difference will you make?
This vital role helps us continue supporting vulnerable young women and their children affected by abuse. As a treasurer and trustee, you'll contribute your skills to the strategic development of the charity. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in financial management within a non-profit context.
What are we looking for?
* A finance professional with knowledge of charity finance or enthusiasm to learn, drawing from commercial experience and understanding of SMEs.
* A strategic thinker capable of balancing risk and opportunity.
* A clear communicator who can simplify financial information for non-finance audiences.
* Willing to actively participate in forecasting, budgeting, and liaising with auditors.
* Committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and aligned with our vision and values.
What will you be doing?
The Treasurer oversees the financial affairs of YWHP, ensuring effective financial controls and procedures, and reports regularly to the Board on the organisation's financial health.
Attributes and qualities
We seek individuals who bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment, contributing to a diverse and effective board. Experience in governance is desirable but not essential. Please note, this position is for self-identifying women only, in accordance with The Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
