As the Airworthiness and Safety Manager, you will work alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company that is constantly growing. They are looking for talented individuals to develop their skills and grow within the industry.
You will act as an expert to develop and implement engineering policies and processes to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
You will be involved in:
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental engineering policies, processes, and documentation to ensure governance and compliance.
* Implementing and maintaining a safety and environmental audit program across all projects to satisfy contractual requirements in Def Stan 00-55/6.
* Overseeing the development of project Safety and Environmental artefacts, including Safety and Environmental Management Plans (SEMPs), Hazard Logs, and Safety & Environmental Case Reports (SECRs).
* Working with project teams to develop and implement statutory and contractual safety and environmental requirements prior to System Requirements Reviews.
* Identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending solutions for engineering and business processes.
* Arranging training to ensure all Safety & Environmental engineers remain current and competent.
* Fulfilling responsibilities for Airworthiness in a DAOS organization as defined in MAA Regulatory Articles 1014 and 5850.
* Providing airworthiness expertise and support to Air System and related projects outside the scope of DAOS approval.
* Applying expert knowledge of safety and environmental management in Defence products.
* Utilizing common system safety and environmental tools, techniques, and processes.
* Having experience in the Defence and/or Aerospace industries.
* Understanding within the MoD acquisition organization.
* Previous safety and/or airworthiness delegation experience.
* Experience with design lifecycle, design reviews, and compliance verification.
* Knowledge of defence and aerospace design & development standards.
