Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Sexual Health and HIV (8.25 PAs) to join the established team at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, supporting services delivered at its satellite clinics in Hertfordshire and Harlow. The postholder will be primarily based at Southgate Health Centre in Stevenage, with additional HIV clinical sessions in Harlow.
The postholder will work closely with the existing consultant team and will maintain an active clinical role, contributing to the delivery of high-quality Sexual Health and HIV care in Stevenage and at the Harlow HIV clinic. The role also includes responsibilities as Education/Audit Lead.
The postholder will also be expected to deliver all aspects of contraception care, including Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), and to support the development of the clinic towards an integrated, “one-stop” sexual health service.
Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust has an active research portfolio. The postholder will be welcome to join the delegation logs for existing studies and, if desired, develop further research activities as a lead investigator.
The appointee should expect that clinical sessions may be reallocated from time to time to meet service needs, including the development of new services, changes in consultant staffing, expansion or reduction of existing provision, and the outcomes of the Trust’s Business Planning Programme.
