SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School (ASD) - Barnet
Full Time | Term Time Only | ASAP StartUp to £400 Take-Home per Week | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEN school in Barnet, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a structured and supportive specialist setting, helping pupils develop communication, independence and engagement with learning. The role involves providing both 1:1 and small-group support for children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD
* Support students with communication, emotional regulation and engagement
* Assist with learning activities across the primary curriculum
* Implement strategies linked to EHCPs and individual support plans
* Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and therapists
* Promote independence, confidence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting children with SEN or ASD
* A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
* Confidence working in a primary SEN or specialist school environment
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
* Background in SEN, care, youth work or education (desirable)
