About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and strong financial control across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly or part-qualified accountant to gain broad exposure within a fast-paced PLC environment.
In this role, you will take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully substantiated and variances are investigated and resolved in a timely manner. You will support accounts payable processes, maintain strong supplier controls, and manage intercompany accounting activities, working closely with group entities to resolve any differences.
You will play an important role in month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities operating on a new ERP system, collaborating with Finance, Billing, and IT teams to resolve issues and improve processes. In addition, you will support audit requirements by preparing reconciliations and documentation, and assist Finance Managers with reporting and analysis.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight deadlines, who is looking to develop their career in a dynamic and evolving finance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Balance Sheet Control
* Prepare and own monthly balance sheet reconciliations across key control accounts
* Investigate variances and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
* Maintain strong controls and audit trail across all postings
Accounts Payable and Supplier Controls
* Support AP processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoice and payment posting
* Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
* Review aged creditors to ensure completeness of liabilities
Intercompany Accounting
* Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances monthly
* Resolve differences and liaise with group entities
Audit Support
* Support internal and external audits with reconciliations and documentation
* Ensure all balances are fully substantiated at period and year end
Finance Operations and Reporting
* Support month end and year end close for 3 entities all operating on new ERP system
* Work with Billing, Finance and IT to resolve issues
* Support Finance Managers with ad hoc monthly reporting and analysis
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least one year's experience in a similar role. They will have strong proficiency in Excel and be comfortable working with accounting systems and the wider Microsoft Office suite. Highly organised and detail-oriented, they will thrive in a fast-paced PLC environment, demonstrating the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities. The candidate will also possess strong communication skills, enabling them to effectively engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
