ACS Staffing Solutions are delighted to be supporting a well-established education provider with the recruitment of a Lecturer – Sport to join their growing Sport & UPS Faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual with a strong background within the sports industry to play a key role in delivering engaging, career-focused education to learners.
This role would particularly suit candidates currently working within industry who are looking to move into education. Previous teaching experience is not essential, as the organisation is very open to candidates coming directly from industry backgrounds, provided they are willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification alongside the role.
This position would particularly suit candidates with experience in Sports Therapy, Massage Therapy, Fitness Instruction, Personal Training, Coaching, or wider Sport Science disciplines who are passionate about developing and motivating students.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality teaching and training to Further Education learners
Assess and monitor student progress and achievement
Act as a course tutor for student groups, maintaining accurate records and attendance monitoring
Support curriculum development to meet evolving industry demands
Participate in demonstrations and practical learning activities
Provide guidance, support and pastoral care to students
Participate in student recruitment activities including careers events and open days
Contribute to internal verification, auditing and quality assurance processes
Promote safeguarding, health & safety, equality, diversity and inclusion at all times
Support the ongoing development of learning resources and commercial activities
Attend relevant meetings, training and development activities as requiredThe Ideal Candidate:
Educated to BSc level or equivalent within a Sport Science or Fitness-related subject
Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Diploma in Teaching and Learning / Certificate in Education or equivalent
Strong industry experience within sport, fitness, coaching, sports therapy or related areas
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to motivate and engage learners effectively
Experience within Further Education or Higher Education environments would be advantageous but is not essential
Strong organisational and time management skills
Flexible approach to working hours including occasional evenings and weekends for events/open days
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeingDesirable:
MSc/MA or PhD in a relevant subject area
Industry qualifications such as Personal Training, Fitness Instruction or NGB Coaching qualifications
Assessor and/or IQA qualifications
Sports Therapy or Massage Therapy backgroundBenefits:
