Overview
We are seeking an experienced Client Payroll Senior to join a fast-paced payroll bureau environment, supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a multi-client setting and is confident managing end-to-end payroll processes while delivering a high level of client service.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to strict deadlines.
* Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls across a variety of client sectors and sizes.
* Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation, including HMRC requirements, RTI submissions, auto-enrolment pensions, and statutory payments.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to payroll queries and providing guidance on payroll-related matters.
* Review and validate payroll data, including new starters, leavers, variable pay, and deductions.
* Reconcile payroll reports and ensure all payments and submissions are completed accurately and on time.
* Support year-end processes including P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory reporting requirements.
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure service levels and client expectations are consistently met.
* Assist with onboarding new clients, including payroll setup, data migration, and process alignment.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a payroll bureau or multi-client payroll environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including HMRC, RTI, pensions, and statutory compliance.
* Experience processing high-volume payrolls across multiple clients.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
* Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Sage, STAR, Iris, or similar).
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
