Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited, working on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The European Division of Electronics designs and develops electrical and electronic control systems for diesel engine and machine prime products developed and produced in Europe. The Engine Systems Team is part of the Electronics European Division and is responsible for developing and implementing electrical and electronic control systems for Powertrains developed in the UK. The successful candidate will work on various electronic system projects to develop systems that meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Role
This role provides primary technical support for the Engine Electronic system. It involves proactively working with other electronics team members and development partners across the entire product development lifecycle, from development prior to production to post-production maintenance, including:
* Participating in defining system architecture, diagrams, and schematics
* Participating in the selection of suitable electronic components
* Participating in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and validation activities for electronic systems and components, and maintaining & improving validation test plans
* Providing technical support for queries related to pinouts, schematics, and software functionality
* Investigating, analyzing, and troubleshooting reported quality issues
Demonstrated Experience Of
* Integration activities of electronic systems for fault finding and design, including PWM, analog, and communication signals, and experience in integrating electronic components
* Gathering and developing detailed electronic-related customer requirements, leading to electronic technical specifications
* Defining electronic features and coordinating their development across teams
* Performing system verification testing of components and software features
* Participation in FMEA development
* Understanding internal combustion engines and their control systems (e.g., governor)
* Building strong working relationships locally and within a global team
Desirable
* Experience in off-highway electronic control system development or similar experience with automotive, marine, or military vehicle control systems
* Knowledge of engine systems related to electronic systems, such as fuel and air systems
* Requirements management experience (e.g., DOORS, Teamcenter)
* Experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN), Vector CANape, and CANalyzer tools
* Proficiency in oscilloscope use for development
* Experience with product structuring and configuration tools (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter Engineering, Creo)
* Experience as a facilitator in PPAP or FMEA, and in design validation planning
