Speech and Language Therapist
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties to determine the nature and severity of their needs.
2. Formulating accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings.
3. Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to address speech, language, and communication challenges.
4. Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and support clients in achieving their goals.
5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.
6. Offering consultation and guidance to families, teachers, and support staff to enhance communication outside of therapy sessions.
7. Maintaining detailed and accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
8. Participating in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about speech and language disorders and promote early intervention.
Requirements:
* Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
* Proven experience in assessing and treating individuals with various speech, language, and communication disorders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and colleagues.
* Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding when working with individuals with communication difficulties.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage a caseload effectively.
* Enhanced DBS check dated within the last 12 months. If you are on the update service, you could be fast-tracked through our recruitment process today.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
