Transport Manager (Maternity Cover) – The King's School, Canterbury
Fixed‑Term Maternity Cover / 37.5 hours per week, all year round. Basis – Full Time. Salary Circa £38‑41k DoE.
The Kings School, Canterbury is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to provide maternity cover within our Premises Department.
The successful candidate will undertake a varied and strategic role responsible for:
* Managing the School's vehicle fleet, transport staff and drivers.
* Ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of transport services across the School.
* Overseeing day‑to‑day operations, fleet maintenance and vehicle replacement planning.
* Managing budget and driver training while ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Identifying opportunities to improve services and maximise efficiency.
* Supporting the Premises Director with aspects of the School's residential property portfolio, including liaison with letting agents, tenants and professional advisers.
Ideal candidates will hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and have substantial experience in transport operations management, including:
* Budgetary control
* Fleet management
* Strategic planning
Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience within an educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
