Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our Cafe. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing baguettes, Bagels and Sandwiches, must know how to handle GF items and prepare to a really good standard, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen during lunch time rushes and being able to prepare jacket potatoes, avocado sourdoughs, paninis etc This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food preparation knowledge, and a passion for hospitality. Would help if you have hospitality experience and if possible Barista skills.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service standards are maintained
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
* Oversee food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations
* Manage food inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
* Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
* Supervising experience within a hospitality or restaurant environment
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
* Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations
* Skilled in food production techniques and culinary innovation
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
* Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving experience in hospitality settings
