Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare meals and manage galley operations.
· Control victuals and commodities, reporting requirements to the Master.
· Monitor hygiene standards in the galley, mess room, and food stores, reporting deficiencies to the Chief Officer.
· Implement the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) and adhere to safe working practices.
· Perform maintenance, greasing, and cleaning tasks on deck and in accommodation areas.
· Operate cranes (if qualified or supervised).
· Assist with mooring operations under the direction of senior officers.
· Carry out navigational watches as a lookout or helmsman (if certified).
· Undertake security duties as instructed by the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
· Carry out additional tasks, within your capabilities, to support the vessel's safe operation.
Requirements:
· Valid STCW certificates.
· Current ENG1 medical certificate.
· Experience in meal preparation and galley operations.
· Strong work ethic and attention to detail, especially in safety and hygiene.
· A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and attention to detail, particularly when handling live cargo.
· Experience in similar roles or familiarity with live fish transport is advantageous but not essential.
