Overview
The role is a permanent Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner in Core CAMHS. It is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with Bradford District Care Trust, to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and support children and young people with mental health needs.
There has never been a more exciting time to join Bradford District Care Trust. This opportunity involves assessing mental health needs in clinic, community and ward settings and delivering CAMHS assessments to help young people return to the community where appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments of mental health need across a range of presentations in clinic, community, and ward settings.
* Assess and manage risk to inform decisions for children and young people, working to prevent hospital admission where possible and to manage crises.
* Deliver assessments in clinic and community settings and contribute to discharge planning to support young people back into the community.
* Work as part of Bradford, Aire Wharfe Craven CAMHS within a well-established core CAMHS service.
* Provide care for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health presentations in the community, using a collaborative, child-centred approach.
Qualifications
* Experienced Band 6 practitioner (nurses, social workers, or occupational therapists) with CAMHS experience.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to carry out risk assessments and use information to inform decisions for children and young people.
