Overview
The Outpatient Neurology Physiotherapy Team covers clinics at Peterborough City Hospital and Stamford Hospital, runs individual and group clinics, liaisons with neurologists and the MS Nurse Specialist, and participates in a monthly Neuropsychiatry MDT meeting.
Responsibilities
* Provide a quality service across both sites to a busy neurology out‑patient department, handling referrals from local GP practices, neurologists, MS and Parkinson’s disease nurse specialists, rehabilitation consultants, and out‑of‑area hospitals.
* Deliver vestibular rehabilitation, facial palsy rehabilitation, and assessment for Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) for foot drop.
* Work flexibly in support of the whole inpatient/outpatient team, including weekend working as required within the neurological service.
* Provide clinical supervision and guide Band 5 staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans.
* Perform 90% clinical contact and 10% operational management duties as appropriate.
* Collaborate within multidisciplinary and multi‑agency teams, participate in delegated projects for service development, and act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex presentations.
Qualifications
* Full‑time Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist, 37.5 hours a week.
* Experience working within the neurology speciality in the NHS.
* Desirably, prior line‑management experience.
* Forward thinking, dynamic, and motivated to develop individually and improve service further.
* Ability to demonstrate neurological physiotherapy skills to manage patients referred to the service in accordance with individual performance metrics.
* Commitment to safe, efficient, and effective delivery of patient‑focused care in line with evidence‑based practice, local and national standards.
* Encouraged to develop clinical, teaching, and managerial skills and actively involved in service development.

Interviews will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills.
