This requires us to challenge our suppliers and our own colleagues to continually improve to meet our customer expectations in quality, service, delivery and value for money.\n\nOur Apprentice CNC Machinist/toolmaker\n\nOur team is made up of experienced engineers with years of industry knowledge and understanding and are always looking for opportunities to improve and grow along with the company.\n\nYou will receive a starting rate dependant on age & qualifications, which is paid fortnightly with any overtime paid at enhanced rates. \nYour working week will be Monday to Thursday 7.30am -l 4:30pm. Friday 7.30am - 2:00pm\n\nApplication Process\n1st Stage Recruitment Process\nPlease apply by sending us your CV along with a covering letter telling us why you believe youâre the right person to join our Apprentice CNC Machinist programme?\n2nd Stage Recruitment Process\nAfter the closing date we will review all applications, selecting those who will progress forward to the 2nd stage which is an Aptitude test.\n3rd Stage Recruitment Process\nAt this stage we will have selected the final candidates for interview. The interview will take place at our Loanhead site and involve the hiring manager.\n\n \nYour apprentice programme will focus on the following;\nâ¢\tYear 1 \t\t- Completing SVQ Level 2 \nâ¢\tYear 2 - National Certificate in Manufacture\nâ¢\tYears 3 and 4\t- HNC Potential progression onto a graduate apprentice position.\nâ¢\tYear 2, 3 & 4\t- Training in the workplace, working towards an SVQ level 3.\n\nWhile at Work\nâ¢\tWork with time served colleagues on how to safely set and operate shop floor machinery\nâ¢\tAccurately measuring and working to the product specification tolerances\nâ¢\tDevelop Machining and programming skills\nâ¢\tEnsure work areas kept tidy\nâ¢\tAny other tasks required by Production Team.\nâ¢\tFrom year 2, start working towards an SVQ Level 3 and Modern apprenticeship in conjunction with the training provider Edeta.\n\n\n\n The ideal Company CNC Apprentice will have the following.\nâ¢\tHold a minimum of 4 National 5âs (or equivalent) or above such as Maths, English, plus one other, Higher qualifications or other relevant qualifications would be advantageous.\nâ¢\tStrong IT skills when using a variety of Microsoft Packages\nâ¢\tA desire to want a long-term career as a CNC Machinist/Toolmaker\nâ¢\tGood communication skills to ultimately liaise with colleagues and tutors\nâ¢\tAn interest/understanding of technologies and mechanical engineering\n
