Geotechnical Modeller Job Overview
* Develop, calibrate, and run geotechnical numerical models using software such as FLAC3D and PLAXIS to support the design and assessment of mining infrastructure.
* Integrate geotechnical models with civil design outputs using Civil 3D.
* Analyse site investigation data to inform model parameters and design recommendations.
* Support geotechnical and civil design teams in delivering technically sound, cost-effective engineering solutions.
* Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and documentation to meet client and regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
* Contribute to risk assessments, design reviews, and quality assurance processes.
* Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with environmental, civil, and mining engineers.
* Potential for occasional travel to project sites in the UK and internationally.
Geotechnical Modeller Job Requirements
* Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related discipline.
* Strong experience in geotechnical modelling, ideally within mining infrastructure projects (e.g., tailings dams, slopes, underground excavations).
* Proficient in FLAC3D and PLAXIS; experience with Civil 3D is highly desirable.
* Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, soil/rock mechanics, and numerical analysis methods.
* Ability to interpret and apply ground investigation data to practical engineering problems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
* Full UK driving licence preferred; willingness to travel for occasional site visits.
