Mind Matters Surrey Talking Therapies NHS is looking to recruit full‑time Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.
The post will involve a blend of in‑person and remote working. The post-holder will be required to work up to two days per week in person across Surrey and the remainder remotely. Opportunities include working in face‑to‑face clinics, across teams and telephone.
Successful applicants with sufficient post‑qualifying experience will be given the opportunity for further development in Long Term Conditions Training, Supervision Training and a variety of Champion and lead roles across the Step 2 Team. Newly qualified candidates can join our preceptorship programme which supports and develops newly qualified staff, easing them into their qualified roles.
All PWPs provide assessments and deliver high‑volume, low‑intensity CBT guided self‑help interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. PWPs are also trained to offer silver cloud assisted therapy treatment sessions and deliver a specialist group each week.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to providing high‑quality care and psychological treatment within Step 2 of a Talking Therapies service.
Main duties of the job
Conduct assessments with people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, identifying areas for change and determining the most appropriate treatment pathways.
This may include making referrals to other services or offering treatments within Mind Matters.
Provide low‑intensity CBT interventions to individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, promoting self‑management of their recovery.

Mind Matters Surrey Talking Therapies has been operational since 2013 and is part of the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust. We are a fast‑growing primary care mental health service offering evidence‑based psychological therapies for common mental health problems.
Our salary scheme follows the NHS Agenda for Change, includes the outer London fringe benefit and NHS pension.
Professional development opportunities include monthly clinical skills sessions, weekly supervision and specialist training. All staff attend quarterly CPD and team meetings, which can count towards professional CPD.
Our services run Talking Therapies treatments from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday, with office hours Friday. A minimum of two late shifts (12–8 pm) per week plus one face‑to‑face clinic is required.

Person Specification
Experience
* Evidence of working as a trainee PWP for at least one year within a Talking Therapies Service.
* Evidence of working as a qualified or newly qualified PWP within a Talking Therapies Service, assessing and treating people with mental health problems.
Qualifications
* Post‑graduate Diploma/Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies (Talking Therapies qualification).
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 per year (pro‑rata, including 5 % fringe HCAS rate).
