Job Title: Procurement Specialist - Indirect/ Direct Operations Contract: 12-months Location: Gaydon (hybrid/ 2 days per week onsite) Day rate: circa £290 inside ir35 Our client is looking for a senior procurement professional to take ownership of both direct and indirect procurement activities, supporting complex operations and high-value sourcing initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities Lead the procurement of goods and services across indirect categories (e.g. office supplies, IT equipment, travel, facilities, maintenance, machine parts). Manage direct procurement activities, including raw materials, manufacturing services, and production-related supplies. Drive end-to-end procurement processes, from sourcing strategy through to contract execution. Conduct supplier selection, commercial evaluations, and due diligence to ensure best value and compliance. Lead pricing and commercial negotiations, including terms, service levels, and risk mitigation. Oversee order processing and contract administration, ensuring adherence to governance and policy. Manage supplier performance, including KPIs, continuous improvement, and issue resolution. Support or lead strategic sourcing initiatives, leveraging market insight and category expertise. Own large or complex projects with limited managerial oversight, delivering against cost, quality, and timing objectives. Coach and guide junior procurement professionals, reviewing work and delegating activities as appropriate. Solve complex commercial and operational challenges using sound judgement and advanced procurement expertise. About You Recognised subject matter expert in procurement, typically gained through advanced education and significant industry experience. Comfortable operating at a senior specialist level, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
